Put your thinking caps on, because Noel Gourdin uses metaphors and analogies the untrained ear might not be accustomed to hearing. His soulful and falsetto sound does all tenors justice in his new single, "The River" from the album After My Time. Obviously bred in the church, this Mississippi native knows the meaning of contemporary rhythm and blues. Despite his own unique sound, he does bring to mind Jaheim, strangely Jamie Foxx, and Musiq Soulchild (three outstanding artists I might add). I haven't heard the rest of the album, but if there anything like this single, then listeners get your pen and pad ready and prepare to decode and enjoy!
