Not your average Disney star.....

Demi Lovato is a fellow Disney star like others we know SOOO well....(need I not mention ALL of them). Her voice is well before her time and her demeanor is very humble, not to mention she can ad lib with the best of them. A huge amount of her recognition came with her recent smash hit, This is Me, from the Disney original Movie, Camp Rock. A strong voice and killer range are some of many reasons why fans love Demi's sound. Frequently compared to Miley Cyrus....I think its hands down when it comes to musical talent....(I mean, Miley can't be perfect in everything). Sure, Miss Lovato still has some stage presence to work on, but the clay is definitely there for molding!

Janita, Janita!!!

I can't quite put my finger on it....but Janita definitely possesses the "IT" factor. A cross between country, pop, and R & B she definitely proves that a soft and pure sound never went out of style. As a native from Finland, one probably wouldn't expect her to sing, but it's actually rumored that Janita began singing before she could even talk! A newcomer in America, but a veteran in Finland, Janita began her singing career when she was thirteen and released her first album when she was fourteen. If your looking for an artist who's sound can help sooth you to sleep.....definitely go cop Janita.

Akwardly beautiful....

Diddy did it again! Funkadelic, sassy, and accentric are all the adjectives that describe P. Diddy's new artist, Janelle Monae. She's a nineteen-year-old cutie who looks a decade younger than her actual age. Not to mention, her body mass is probably equivalent to that of a toothpick.... but her sound definitely demands attention from all who listen. First signed in 2005 to Big Boi's label, Purple Ribbon entertainment, her mixture of neosoul and rock create a VERY unique sound that I actually.....enjoyed! She sort of reminds me of a hippy because she seems to be so free when it comes to her music, and when looking at her one cannot help but notice her unique fashion. It's a fact....to appreciate her awkward beauty, you have to be open to uniqueness and creativity! YOU GO JANELLE!

Already a *Star*

A veteran in her own right, Jazmine Sullivan is exactly what the music world needed. Making her first debut on Showtime at the Apollo, any individual with a ear for GOOD singing could obviously see talent. Her first single Need U bad caught radio stations by suprise, and definitely created a Jazmine epidimic. Not to mention, Ms. Sullivan is a profound songwriter whose name can be found on song writing credits for Fantasia's debut album, Free yourself, and Christina Milian's last album, So Amazin'. To be so young, this rising star has already created a name for herself...I guess you can say, she's not a rising star.... but, SHE'S ALREADY A STAR!

Not exactly new...

Jesse McCartney....a name many have heard before, but maybe didn't pay much attention to until now is BACK! After a rewarding puberty stage, and a new hit single entitled, leavin, this not-so- old dog has defitnitely learned some new tricks. Having been seen on numerous children sitcom's, he's already had the privlege of earning himself a solid fan base, not to mention the release of his 2004 banger, beautiful soul, that earned him plenty brownie points. No doubt, the list of "Jesse lover's" have grown since the release of his new hit single, leavin, off the album Departure. And I bet a lot of you didn't know this young star co- wrote the smash single, Bleeding Love, for Leona Lewis!!! Well, all I know is Jesse is definitely doing his thing...keep up the good work!

Threesome Action!

D.E.Y is a threesome you wouldn't want to miss! Hey you....get your mind out the gutter!... Devine, Elan (the girl member), and Yeyo make up one of the newest hottest SINGING groups around. Their new single, Give you the world, has sparked the ears of many music listeners, and has helped contribute to the melting pot of hip hop, R&B, Pop, and Afro Latino sound. Their bilingual, multicultural group brings a unique sound to the music world, while still reminding us of pasts group such as The Fugees and Black eyed peas. Not only do they embrace some of the groups members Latino heritage, they also welcome non-latino's to share in the party as well! With this group, your musical thirst will be quenched, and you'll hear input on real world issues. See, I told you this is a threesome you wouldn't want yo miss

S.I.T ( star in training)

Who would ever think such talent would come from a small rural town in from Southern Illonois. Eli Tellor is definitely going to hit the World of Country music by suprise as he not only sings, but he plays guitar and writes his own material. As of now, he isn't what one would call a star , but I don't see his future looking too dim. His youthful and soft sound will serve as the "voice of the young people", but also as the perfect clay for molding. Not to say he's not a talented singer, but a voice trainer and image consultant might be beneficial. Fortunately, with time and experience these things will come (he is only 19 people!). Eli Tellor, I wish the best of luck!

In Between the lines

Put your thinking caps on, because Noel Gourdin uses metaphors and analogies the untrained ear might not be accustomed to hearing. His soulful and falsetto sound does all tenors justice in his new single, "The River" from the album After My Time. Obviously bred in the church, this Mississippi native knows the meaning of contemporary rhythm and blues. Despite his own unique sound, he does bring to mind Jaheim, strangely Jamie Foxx, and Musiq Soulchild (three outstanding artists I might add). I haven't heard the rest of the album, but if there anything like this single, then listeners get your pen and pad ready and prepare to decode and enjoy!

Acousitc Soul

Justin Nozuka, a name music lovers will soon repeat often, is the total package. With a baby face and innocent persona, this Japanese-American vocalist adds versatility to the music world. As he plays his guitar, one can appreciate his acoustic sound at such a young age. Its not everyday a nineteen year old delivers songs with such meaning and diversity. His New single "After Tonight" off his debut album, Holly, is very encouraging as he speaks about comforting a girl in her time of emotional distress. Nothing is better than hearing conforting words from an angelic sound. "After tonight" is definitely the new lullaby of the year!

Do Kiss and tell

She kissed a girl and She liked it! Courtesy Capitol Records artisist, Katy Perry, tells it all in her new hit single from album, One of the Boys. "I kissed a Girl " joins the controversial list for the year, as the song brags about her kissing another female, and tasting her cherry chapstick. With a memorable chorus and catchy beat, heterosexuals and homosexuals find themselves singing the same tune. This twenty three year old artist is known for off the wall lyrics, but thats probably the reason for blasting speakers when her song pops on and her topping the charts in over fifteen countries. Summer 2008 has been a beneficial year for Ms. Perry, and maybe next time she'll tell us about her kiss with a boy!
